Mobile Phone Use

Please always keep in mind that your focus should be on the road and providing your Passengers with exceptional customer service.

You should not be on your mobile phone for personal or business calls when you have a Passenger onboard. You should especially never use your mobile phone to text, watch videos or use social media while you are driving.

The only exceptions to this are:

  • if you need to contact the Driver Helpdesk with an enquiry directly related to assisting your current Passenger and cannot reach them via your MTI dispatch system

  • if you need to call emergency services

Before using your mobile phone in both exceptions, you should always ensure:

  • your car is safely parked, or

  • that you are using hands-free, or

  • that your phone is mounted correctly

13cabs Professional Drivers found to be using their mobile phones inappropriately while transporting Passengers will be dealt with in accordance with our Code of Conduct.
